Removes Dead Skin and Vellus Hair to leave your skin looking beautiful.
Reveal beautiful looking skin
Dermaplaning is a physical exfoliation procedure. It requires the use of a sterile, surgical scalpel to gently remove the top-most layer of dead skin along with fine, Vellus hair otherwise known as peach fuzz. The procedure can be performed monthly, in approximately thirty to fourty minutes, with no downtime post-treatment.
Dermaplaning is only performed on the face and is not meant to be used to shape eyebrows, which are made up of “terminal” (not vellus) hairs. Your skin will be left so smooth, allowing your daily skincare regime to continue and the products absorbed into the skin.
Dermaplaning triggers the cell regeneration process which allows products to better penetrate the skin and promotes smoother skin. You can enjoy immediate results with little downtime. Dermaplaning can also reduce the appearance of acne scars and works to reduce pore size.
Frequently Asked Questions
Dermaplaning is especially effective on those with dry or rough skin texture and helps to minimise superficial acne scarring or uneven skin tone. It is also beneficial for mature skin, which tends to have a buildup of dead cells as cellular turnover slows down with age. Dermaplaning is safe for pregnant or lactating clients who cannot have chemical peels.
No, the soft, fine vellous hair will grow back slowly – usually in about 4 weeks.
All skin types can benefit from Dermaplaning. Men can have Dermaplaning on non-beard areas only.
Patients with active acne outbreaks should not be treated until lesions have healed. Dermaplaning is great for diminishing acne scars (when combined with a peel) but should not be performed during active outbreaks.
Patients with bleeding disorders or difficulty clotting should not be treated.
Patients with diabetes not under control by diet or medication should not be treated.
Patients undergoing cancer treatment should also not be treated.
